Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I install the extension?

Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for 'Right Click Prompt', or click the 'Get Extension' button in the dashboard header. Click 'Add to Chrome' and the extension will be installed automatically.

How do I create my first prompt?

In the dashboard, go to 'My Prompts' and click the + button on any folder (or create a new folder first). Give your prompt a title and enter the text you want to save. Click Save, then drag the folder to 'Quick Access' to make it available in the extension.

What's the difference between My Prompts and Quick Access?

My Prompts is your full library for organizing prompts. Quick Access is your curated selection that syncs to the extension. Drag folders from My Prompts to Quick Access to make them available in your right-click menu.

Extension

How do I open the extension panel?

Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar (top-right). Find 'Right Click Prompt' in the list and click its icon. Tip: Click the pin icon to keep RCP visible in your toolbar for quick access.

How do I access my prompts?

After logging in, right-click anywhere on a webpage to see your Quick Access prompts in the context menu. Click any prompt to copy it to your clipboard. You can also click the extension icon to open the sidebar.

Why isn't my extension syncing?

First, make sure you're logged into the extension itself (not just the website - they're separate). Open the extension panel (puzzle icon → RCP icon) and check if you see a login button. If already logged in, try clicking the sync button in the status bar. If issues persist, try logging out and back in.

How do I use the right-click menu?

Right-click on any text input, textarea, or editable area on a webpage. Your Quick Access folders and prompts will appear in the context menu. Click a prompt to copy it instantly.

Dashboard

How do I share a folder?

Click the three dots (...) on any folder in My Prompts and select 'Share'. You'll get a unique link that others can use to subscribe to your folder. They'll see updates whenever you edit your prompts.

How do I import/export prompts?

Click 'Export' in the header to download all your prompts as a JSON file. To import, click 'Import' and select a JSON file. The system supports both V1 and V2 backup formats.

How do I see my analytics?

Click the flame icon (streak indicator) in the header to open the analytics drawer. You'll see your usage stats, time saved, current streak, and most-used prompts.

Billing

How much does it cost?

Right Click Prompt is $6/month or $58/year (about $4.83/month). You get a 7-day free trial with no credit card required.

What happens when my trial ends?

After your 7-day trial, you'll need to subscribe to continue using Right Click Prompt. Your prompts stay safe in your account, and any shared links keep working.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to your Billing page and click 'Manage Subscription' to open the Stripe portal. You can cancel anytime and your access will continue until the end of your billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't offer refunds on subscriptions. You can cancel anytime and keep full access until the end of your current billing period. Since the trial is free and doesn't require a credit card, you can try everything before committing.

Can I export my data?

Yes! You can always export your prompts, even if your subscription expires. Click 'Export' in the dashboard header to download a complete backup of all your prompts.

Troubleshooting

Logged in on website but extension asks to log in

The website and extension have separate logins. Open the extension panel (puzzle icon → RCP icon) and log in there. Your prompts will sync once both are connected.

Extension not syncing

First, check you're logged into the extension (not just the website). Open the extension panel, click the sync button in the status bar. If the problem persists, try logging out and back in.

Can't see my prompts

Make sure your prompts are in Quick Access, not just My Prompts. Drag folders from My Prompts to the Quick Access panel to sync them to the extension.

Import failed

Check that your file is valid JSON. Try re-exporting from the source. The system accepts V1 backups, V2 backups, and generic JSON formats with folders/prompts structure.

Right-click menu empty

Log in to the extension first (puzzle icon → RCP icon). Then make sure you have at least one folder in Quick Access. The menu only shows Quick Access content.
